Todd Doten, the founder of Atlantic Comics, discovered comics at a young age. A voracious reader, he started mostly, as a fan of DC Comics.  Taking in many many hours of Batman, the Justice League, The Legion of Superheroes, the Justice Society, the Secret Society of Super Villains, the Haunted Tank, and Sgt. Rock.  Among others.  Although, he didn’t become a fan of Marvel Comics, until a few years later.   Becoming a big fan of Spider-Man, the Hulk, the X-Men, and the Avengers.  There was one particular Marvel title that he loved in the earlier stage: The Invaders.  Featuring Captain America, the Human Torch, and the Sub-Mariner fighting the Axis Powers during World War Two.  And, in particular, he’s a big fan of Daredevil.

In the 1980s, his teen years, he stepped away from comics, for the most part.  “That’s kid stuff.” But, in the early 1990s, his love of comics was rekindled by the Image Revolution.  The advances in art, and color, made possible, through technology.  And, championed by Image Comics.  He was a fan of almost the whole line of the original incarnation of Image.  Being a big fan of, not just superhero and war comics but, comics in general, he always thought it would be fun to write one.  Then, in late Summer 2018, he came up with the concept, for the comic, that will be Atlantic Comics flagship superhero title. Then, he came up with the concept for a war comic.   And, then, the idea for a new comic book company. Thus, Atlantic Comics was born.
